Tax & Treasury Recruitment have been exclusively engaged in the search for a Group Tax Manager. This is a part-time position (3 days a week). Salary is £80-100,000 (full time equivalent). The office is in London, with one day in the office per month. Depending on where you are based, this can be flexible as long as it is relatively easy to commute in on a short-term basis just in case needed. For example, areas such as Birmingham, Cardiff, Bristol and Manchester would work. Areas such as Scotland or Newcastle wouldn't.

About the role

Reporting into finance, you will be responsible for the group's UK corporate tax exposure. For compliance, this will include full-cycle ownership of 30 tax returns. You will act as the main point of contact for any governance/audit matters. Reporting (IFRS) will be hands-on for UK subsidiaries. International tax work is outsourced to advisors; you will assist in overseeing this and will sense check output. For areas such as WHT and Transfer Pricing, you may have more input but will still be supported by advisors. VAT is with finance, Employment Tax is with HR and Legal.

About you

  • Experience in managing Corporate Tax compliance for UK Groups (larger than £100m t/o)
  • Qualified (ACA, ACCA, CTA)
  • Interested in international taxes
  • This could be your first move from a larger mid-tier accountancy practice, or you may also be more experienced in an in-house role and happy to operate at a Manager level.
