About the Role

We are recruiting for an experienced and motivated Registered Manager to lead the opening and development of a new children’s residential home supporting young people with Learning Disabilities (LD) and Emotional & Behavioural Difficulties (EBD). This is an exciting opportunity for a strong leader who has previous experience opening and successfully registering a new children’s home with Ofsted. We are also open to experienced Deputy Managers who want to step up to the RM position. You will work alongside an experienced and supportive Responsible Individual (RI) and wider leadership team committed to creating high-quality, child-centred care environments. The organisation is focused on building stable, nurturing homes where children can thrive, while also ensuring managers are well-supported operationally and professionally.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the registration and opening process for the new children’s home with Ofsted
  • Develop and implement policies, procedures, and operational systems
  • Create a positive, therapeutic, and child-focused culture within the home
  • Recruit, lead, supervise, and develop a high-performing staff team
  • Ensure compliance with Children’s Homes Regulations and Quality Standards
  • Safeguard and promote the welfare of children and young people at all times
  • Manage placements, care planning, risk management, and outcomes for young people
  • Maintain excellent relationships with local authorities, professionals, and stakeholders
  • Work collaboratively with the RI and senior leadership team to develop the service

Essential Requirements

  • Previous experience as a Registered Manager within a children’s residential setting
  • Must have successfully opened and/or registered a new children’s home with Ofsted
  • Strong understanding of LD and EBD support needs
  • Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Residential Childcare (or equivalent)
  • Proven knowledge of Ofsted regulations and safeguarding practices
  • Strong leadership, organisational, and communication skills
  • Full UK driving licence
  • Right to work in the UK
