Location: Oldham, Greater Manchester Salary: £17–£20 per hour (DOE) + shift allowance Hours: 37.5 hours per week – shift work Job Type: Full-time, Permanent Recruitment Agency: TK Recruitment About the Role TK Recruitment is recruiting for an experienced CNC Turner to join a well-established heavy engineering and precision manufacturing company based in Oldham. The successful candidate will be responsible for programming, setting and operating CNC lathes, producing high-quality precision components for industries including aerospace, defence, nuclear and oil & gas. This role involves machining medium-to-large components, with a mixture of bespoke, one-off and batch production work. Key Responsibilities * Programme, set and operate CNC turning machines. * Work with Fanuc controls or similar CNC operating systems. * Manufacture precision components from detailed engineering drawings. * Machine medium-to-large steel and engineering components. * Carry out tooling selection, machine setups and programme adjustments. * Perform turning operations including facing, boring, threading and profiling. * Work to tight tolerances and maintain high-quality standards. * Inspect completed components using micrometers, verniers and other measuring equipment. * Work independently on complex and varied engineering projects. * Maintain a safe and organised working environment. Requirements * Proven experience as a CNC Turner, Programmer, Setter or Operator. * Strong CNC turning experience, ideally including programming. * Fanuc control experience preferred, although other controls will be considered. * Ability to read and interpret complex engineering drawings. * Experience machining medium-to-large components advantageous. * Confident carrying out machine setups, tool changes and offsets. * Experience working on bespoke or low-volume engineering components. * Good understanding of machining tolerances and quality inspection. * Willingness to work shifts.
