We’re working on behalf of a high-growth technology company operating at significant scale, and are looking for an experienced Infrastructure Engineer to help evolve a critical platform supporting data-intensive and ML-driven systems. This is a hands-on role with real ownership, operating in a production environment where reliability, scalability, and cost efficiency genuinely matter.
Description
- Architect and implement infrastructure running 24/7, supporting ingestion of data initially from an extremely successful, privacy-focused mobile telemetry product.
- Provide input to AI and Data software teams as they build out ML systems on top of the infrastructure.
- Take part in building an SRE culture across infrastructure teams, including systems that identify issues before they impact users.
- Own a plan for onboarding existing systems and customers onto the new platform.
- Contribute to maturing release and deployment processes across the organisation.
- Optimise infrastructure costs and improve reuse wherever possible.
- Provide general operational support.
Requirements
- 3+ years’ experience in software or infrastructure engineering roles.
- Experience with at least one major public cloud provider (AWS preferred).
- Understanding of how infrastructure and platform decisions impact downstream systems.
- Hands-on experience with Kubernetes, containers, and Terraform.
- Hands-on experience with Kafka and infrastructure deployments.
- Scripting or software development experience using Python.
- Familiarity with Databricks.
- Familiarity with OpenShift.
- Experience working within an infrastructure team supporting high-scale data and/or ML systems.
This role would suit someone who enjoys operating close to production, partnering with AI and Data teams, and taking responsibility for systems that run at scale. You’ll have meaningful influence over infrastructure decisions and the opportunity to help shape engineering best practices as the platform continues to grow.
