The Manor House Centre for Psychotherapy and Counselling (MHCPC) is an established Centre in North London for the training of psychodynamic counsellors. In support of graduates who wish to build on their Psychodynamic Counselling qualification, the MHCPC is developing an intensive training which leads to the award of a Diploma in Psychodynamic Psychotherapy (DPP). Successful completion of this advanced Course will enable graduates to be listed as a Psychodynamic Psychotherapist on the BPC register.

Role

  • To work with the Course Director to set the curriculum.
  • To deliver one weekly seminar of 1.5 hours throughout the academic year (30 weeks) on a Wednesday (Time TBC).
  • To lead a group discussion in relation to the clinical work presented (4-6 trainees).
  • To support with marking and assessment of clinical papers.
  • To provide mid-year and end-of-year reports for each trainee.
  • To attend assessment meetings with the Course Director and other course Tutors mid and end-of-year.
  • To attend meetings with the DPP Tutor Team once per term.

All seminars are provided in-person at MHCPC premises, N3 2SY.

Person Specification

  • Applicants must have teaching skills and a working knowledge of psychoanalytic concepts as well as an ability to facilitate creative experiential learning.
  • Applicants must have group facilitation experience and be able to work with the psychodynamic process.
  • Applicants must be a qualified psychodynamic or psychoanalytic psychotherapist registered with BPC, BACP, UKCP or another registration body relevant to psychodynamic or psychoanalytic training.
