About the Opportunity:
We are recruiting on behalf of a growing UK-based digital media and technology-focused business that delivers digital solutions for commercial clients across the UK and Europe. They are seeking a Health, Safety & Environment Manager / HSE Manager to take full ownership of health, safety, and environmental compliance across both office operations and field engineering activities. This is a standalone role, ideal for an experienced HSE professional who enjoys autonomy, variety, and the opportunity to shape and develop a function within a growing business.
The role combines strategic leadership with hands-on operational safety management, covering ISO compliance, site-based installation risks, contractor management, and office health and safety responsibilities.
Roles and Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage the company’s full HSE function across office and field operations
- Maintain and develop ISO 9001, 14001 and 45001 management systems
- Lead internal preparation and coordination for external ISO audits
- Produce, review, and approve Risk Assessments and Method Statements (RAMS)
- Oversee contractor and subcontractor safety compliance on client installation sites
- Manage working at height, electrical safety, and field engineering risk controls
- Conduct incident investigations and implement corrective and preventive actions
- Carry out workplace risk assessments, including DSE, fire safety, and general office safety
- Deliver HSE training, inductions, and toolbox talks for operational teams
- Liaise with senior leadership to report on HSE performance and compliance metrics
- Support environmental and sustainability initiatives and compliance frameworks
Your Experience and Skills:
- NEBOSH National General Certificate or Construction Certificate in Occupational Health and Safety.
- Proven experience in a standalone or lead HSE role
- Strong knowledge of ISO 45001, 14001 and 9001 standards
- Experience within engineering, construction, installation, or field services environments
- Understanding of working at height and electrical safety risks
- Strong auditing, reporting, and documentation skills
- Ability to influence stakeholders and promote a strong safety culture
- Confident in managing contractors and external compliance requirements
- Excellent communication, organisation, and attention to detail
