World Class Defence Organisation is currently looking to recruit a Supplier Planner subcontractor on an initial 6 month contract. This role could suit a candidate from a MRP Controller, Supply Scheduler or Supply Chain Specialist background.

This role is looking for a candidate with the following experience:

  • MRP planning experience and ideally some exposure to SAP Manufacturing environment.
  • Supply chain experience.

Rate: £27.00 per hour

Location: Bolton

Hybrid / Remote working: Hybrid role of 3 days per week onsite, 2 days working from home

Contract: 37 Hours per week

Overtime: Hours worked over 37 hours per week will be calculated at ‘time and a quarter’

Duration: 6 Months (initially and then ongoing and long-term thereafter)

IR35 status: Inside IR35 (Umbrella)

This opportunity plays a significant part in the development of the Supplier Planning activities, aligning us to the Oliver Wight Class A standards. You will increase the already close working relationships with Manufacturing Operations and gain knowledge around programmes as well being a key support to the procurement team. You'll have specific supplier category opportunities to drive improved delivery and inventory performance. OTD appreciation is key to this role and plays an important part of the planning activities.

Supplier visits with the chance to engage in operational reviews with suppliers, whilst sharing KPIs. The opportunity to bring MRP planning and Material Master knowledge and support improvements required to be successful in supplier planning activities. Regular on the job training and development is key and you will be given further opportunities to continue training to grow your knowledge. You will be a key member of the ISP-S sub-assemblies team and work with buyers, supply chain managers, Industrial engineers, sector leads, manufacturing planners as well as our supply chain excellence team.

Skillset/experience required:

  • Experience of working with an MRP (or similar) planning background within a manufacturing environment.
  • The capability to understand errors in the data and know how to rectify them.
  • Ideally experienced in SAP, although not imperative as training will be given.
  • Goal orientated with strong cultural awareness, excellent team working capabilities and able to drive key decisions through the supply base.
  • An ability to visit suppliers and our Stevenage office to work with our stakeholders.
  • Experience of working with suppliers on scheduled orders & fixed POs.
  • Ideally with experience of both working with suppliers as well as within a manufacturing environment with an ability to negotiate and meet deadlines.
  • An awareness and understanding of key supply chain KPIs.
  • A continuous improvement mind-set and ability to bring new ideas and experiences to the role.
