Certain Advantage are hiring for a Senior Bid Writer based in Preston. This is a permanent role and requires full-time onsite attendance.
You will lead the coordination and preparation of high-quality PQQ and tender submissions, combining strong bid writing capability with light bid management responsibilities.
Your Responsibilities
- Producing a bid programme and submission plan
- Organising bid kick-off meetings
- Allocating responsibilities for bid inputs
- Coordinating contributions from estimators, planners and operational staff
- Tracking progress against deadlines
- Managing tender clarifications
- Ensuring compliance with client requirements
- Assembling and submitting final tender documentation
- Write clear, persuasive responses to PQQs, tenders and framework submissions
- Translate technical information into structured, client-focused responses
- Develop methodology responses, project approaches and value proposals
- Review and improve contributions from technical team members
- Edit and proofread submissions to ensure clarity and consistency
- Ensure responses align with identified win themes
The individual:
- Strong bid writing experience
- Experience coordinating tender submissions
- Construction or civil engineering sector experience desirable
- Ability to analyse tender questions and scoring criteria
- Skilled at extracting technical knowledge from subject experts
- Excellent written communication skills
- Strong editing and proofreading ability
- Ability to prioritise work across multiple concurrent tenders
- Strong organisational and time management skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel)
- Experience with document design tools (InDesign or similar)
