Certain Advantage is partnering with a key nuclear client to recruit a Project Engineer. You’ll provide fit-for-purpose engineering solutions for projects or engineering support on more complex projects and ensure that design authority standards and configuration control are applied appropriately.

What will you be doing?

  • Determine and capture functional requirements along with stakeholder expectations for allocated projects.
  • Assist in developing the Project Execution Plan, including approaches for design, safety case development, and commissioning.
  • Contribute to the evaluation and selection of project options.
  • Produce conceptual designs and deliver practical, fit-for-purpose engineering solutions.
  • Prepare and/or review and authorise technical specifications.
  • Oversee detailed design work in line with established design authority requirements.
  • Develop modification proposals when necessary, fulfilling the role of Nominated Responsible Engineer where assigned.
  • Review and approve contractors’ technical documentation, such as method statements, work instructions, and risk assessments.
  • Provide technical oversight during construction or dismantling activities to ensure adherence to design intent.

A couple of things you should know:

  • Background in nuclear and/or conventional engineering project environments.
  • Familiarity with applicable company and/or national engineering standards.
  • Understanding of Safety Rules and practical application of risk assessment techniques.
  • Awareness of Site Licence conditions and Quality Management System expectations.

During an interview, you may be asked about:

  • Working knowledge of the CDM Designer role.
  • Experience in contract management.
  • Proven involvement in delivering engineering projects.
