Certain Advantage is hiring for a Senior Electrical Control & Instrumentation Engineer based in the Southwest area. This role is on a permanent basis and is site-based.

The Company: We’re working with an engineering company specialising in solving complex engineering challenges across industries—from Power Generation, Rail and more.

The Role: This role is for a Senior Electrical Control & Instrumentation Engineer—someone ambitious and ready to make an impact. You’ll be results-oriented and driven to succeed. You’ll be leading a small, experienced, and collaborative team, and be responsible for:

  • Technical leadership on control and instrumentation systems
  • Supporting asset lifecycle management
  • Developing modifications and upgrades
  • Ensuring compliance with safety, regulatory and operational requirements

The Individual: We’re looking for people who can show:

  • Degree in Control & Instrumentation Engineering, Electrical Engineering or equivalent discipline
  • C&I engineering within a highly regulated industry
  • Industrial control systems, PLCs, SCADA, instrumentation and functional safety
  • Producing and reviewing engineering calculations, specifications and design documentation

Desirable Attributes:

  • Understanding of safety-critical environments and regulatory compliance requirements
  • Experience with IEC 61508/61511 functional safety standards
  • Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills
  • Experience working in defence, energy, infrastructure or process industries
