World Class Defence Organisation based in Bolton is currently looking to recruit 2x Plastics / Chemical Operators.
Hourly Rate: £24.78ph, after 12 weeks the rate increases to £26.12ph. Overtime hours (over 37 hours) are at normal hourly rate plus 50%.
Contract Duration: 12 Months (initially and then ongoing and long-term thereafter).
This involves working with small hand tools and masking tape, manually applying protective resin coatings to assembled circuit boards. Excellent Dexterity is a must have, and any experience working with small brushes, either in their personal time or professional life, would be an excellent skillset.
The Plastics operator will be responsible for the carrying out of manufacturing and self-certification tasks within the deployed business, in accordance with product certification procedures, defined workmanship standards, allocated budgets and timescales to meet project objectives.
Specific responsibilities include:
- Handling electronic components and equipment including the safe use and care
- Reading and understanding layouts
- Experience in the use of weighing equipment
- Experience with mixing techniques
- Experience with different potting techniques
- Experience with conformal coating techniques
- Be able to use and recognise epoxy resins and plastics
- Safely use and dispose of all materials used with particular reference to cleanliness and voidance of contamination
- Be able to prepare surfaces
- Mix given substances in the correct amounts
- Health & Safety i.e. use of safety cupboards, petroleum and non-petroleum base materials
- Adhere in all activities to agreed standards and behaviours
- Comply with all health & safety requirements
- Prior knowledge & experience of Plastics / Paint Spray environment
- Dexterity for fine work
- Read and interpret layouts
- Work on own with minimal supervision
- ESD training
