World Class Defence Organisation based in Bolton is currently looking to recruit an Electrical Wiring Operator on an initial 12 month contract and then ongoing and long-term thereafter.

Contract Duration: 12 Months (initially and then ongoing thereafter)

Hourly Rate: 28.35ph for the first 12 weeks and then 29.70 after week 12 (Umbrella). Overtime rates of time and a half for all hours worked over 37 hours per week.

Job Description: An exciting opportunity for a Skilled Electrical Wiring Operator to join our Calibration and Maintenance team for a 12-month period in a fast-paced but friendly and inclusive manufacturing environment. We are seeking a Skilled Wire Operator to join our Calibration & Maintenance Team to fault diagnose and repair bespoke cabling to drawing specifications.

Responsibilities:

  • Fault finding and subsequent repair of cable assemblies.
  • Carry out surface mount repair on CCAs.
  • Maintain and repair test/measuring equipment to component level.
  • PAT testing across the manufacturing site.
  • Interrogate drawings during fault finding activities.
  • Safety systems testing of Test & Measuring equipment in line with documented procedures.
  • Provide technical support to facilitate the efficient servicing of STTE to enable production testing of hardware and repair phases of the contract.
  • Maintain excellent workspace husbandry disciplines.
  • Maintain a high degree of tool control and FOD practices.
  • Assist with maintenance of manufacturing aids as and when required.

Qualifications:

  • Electrical Engineering / Manufacturing Apprenticeship (Advanced Level or L3 Standard).
  • Electrical Engineering / Manufacturing Level 3 academic qualification (ONC, diploma, etc.).
  • Electrical Engineering / Manufacturing Level 3 vocational qualification (NVQ) not required if a L3 apprenticeship standard has been achieved.
  • IPC 620 & Dynamic Cabling certified/trained preferred.
  • Possess experience in electrical wiring and assembly.
  • Previous experience in the aerospace or defence industry would be desirable.
