Certain Advantage is hiring for an Employee Relations Advisor based in Exeter. This role is on a 6‑month contract basis and is hybrid, with 1 day per week on site.
This role is for a dynamic Employee Relations Advisor—someone ambitious and ready to make an impact. You'll be a trusted ER expert, providing specialist guidance and leading on complex employee relations matters across the organisation.
Responsibilities- Lead the Employee Relations function and provide expert advice on complex ER cases, including escalations up to Employment Tribunal level.
- Supervise casework activity and drive best‑practice approaches across the ER service.
- Build strong relationships with key stakeholders, including Trade Union representatives and external service providers.
- Support and develop line managers through coaching, guidance and capability building.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives through people metrics, reporting and innovative ways of working.
- Ensure compliance with employment legislation, policy updates and HR best practice.
- Significant Employee Relations experience within a complex organisation.
- Strong knowledge of UK employment law and HR best practice.
- Experience managing complex casework, including disciplinary, grievance and tribunal‑related matters.
- Excellent stakeholder management and relationship‑building skills.
- Experience working collaboratively with Trade Unions.
- Strong coaching, influencing and decision‑making abilities.
