Certain Advantage is hiring for a Systems Engineer based in the Derby area. This role is on a permanent basis and is site-based.

The Company: We’re working with an engineering company specialising in solving complex engineering challenges across industries—from Power Generation, Rail and more.

The Role: This role is for a Systems Engineer—someone ambitious and ready to make an impact. You’ll be results-oriented and driven to succeed. You’ll be leading a small, experienced, and collaborative team, and be responsible for:

  • Mechanical integration of all train systems into a fully coordinated 3D model, supported by the associated installation drawings for one of our Rolling stock / Rail Transport project.
  • Coordinating activity across a multidisciplinary group of around 30 people.

The Individual: We’re looking for people who can show:

  • Rolling Stock Mechanical systems integration
  • Good knowledge of the different systems of Rolling Stock
  • Working with customer system design vendors
  • Problem resolution in the areas of design integration and clashing, stack-up calculations and root cause analysis of the engineering problem
