The predicted salary is between 36000 - 60000 £ per year.

Job purpose: You will be in charge of all Shipping to over 40 countries and arranging for goods to be sent out daily to customers around the world.

About the Job:

  • Managing the shipping of wholesale and e-commerce customer orders to all territories worldwide via air, road and sea freight.
  • Arranging for all shipments to be put correctly through the in-house system and dispatched with correct documentation.
  • Ensuring the Company is compliant with Brexit and customs regulations per destination country. This involves keeping up to date with all changes in legislation, ensuring that all correct tariff codes are used and we are customs compliant.
  • Monitoring shipping costs to ensure that the company minimizes expenditure.
  • Monitoring tariff increases in destination countries.
  • Obtaining quotations and arranging collections with freight forwarders – this will now involve arranging forwarders to collect/ship to the 3PL warehouses so frequent communication with both required.
  • Completing required documentation to assist goods whilst in transit ensuring customer orders reach their final destination in time.
  • Raising and checking invoices – ensuring all correct details are added, varying per client and destination country.
  • Pro-actively liaising with colleagues, external customers and our 3PL warehouses on shipment details, dispatch notes and last-minute enquiries.
  • Applying for a Carnet to use when shipping to trade shows.
  • Shipping to suppliers, arranging brokers/forwarders to ship to each warehouse.
  • Applying for a Certificate of Origin when shipping to Turkey, Middle East etc.
  • Knowledge of incoterms.

About You:

  • At least 2 years’ experience in a hands-on Export/Import role for a global business with Head Office in London.
  • Experience in Importing from China and the Far East and exporting to Europe and USA using correct codes and required customs documentation.
  • Excellent understanding of Brexit Shipping regulations, UK and international procedures for exporting/importing.
  • Worked in a stand-alone shipping role with accountability for importing and exporting goods to correct standards and deadlines.
  • Degree educated or similar qualification, ideally in related subject.
  • Ability to multi-task, prioritise, and work unsupervised to meet deadlines.
  • Team player with a customer centric approach to colleagues and clients.
  • Excellent verbal and written English.
  • Logical thinker, attention to detail, and strong organisational skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure in a busy and dynamic environment.
  • Very good MS Office skills and experience in using a bespoke in-house system.
