Overview
We are seeking a photographer to develop your practice while working on a variety of subjects across Tate's galleries in London.
This is an 18‑month fixed‑term contract that offers a unique opportunity to grow in cultural heritage photography.
Responsibilities
- Photograph works on paper and negatives, assist senior photographers with complex artworks and conservation imaging.
- Record gallery spaces and artworks on display, and shoot portraiture, editorial and events.
- Handle photography from capture to upload, ensuring high‑standard images and meeting agreed deadlines.
- Work across all four Tate galleries and the art store, as well as external locations.
Qualifications
- Recognised qualification or equivalent experience demonstrating practical and professional photography skills.
- Confidence using high‑end digital cameras, artificial lighting, editing software and knowledge of appropriate file formats.
- Sound technical understanding of photography and willingness to apply best practice in an arts & heritage environment.
