Tate Eats is a hospitality business supporting Tate's galleries.
We run restaurants, cafés and bars, deliver events, and have initiatives across roastery, brewing, gin, tea, and a multi award winning wine programme.
We are looking for a creative, enthusiastic and experienced Senior Sous Chef to join our team at the Tate Modern Production Kitchen.
We work closely with suppliers and showcase the best in British meat, fish and vegetables.
The kitchen space includes state of the art equipment and multiple kitchen areas, aligned with gallery hours to support work life balance.
Responsibilities
- Provide supervisory/management leadership within the kitchen and production operations.
- Manage stock and equipment, ordering, and minimising waste to maintain or raise profit margins on food.
- Ensure high hygiene standards and maintain knowledge of COSHH and food safety requirements.
- Work collaboratively across teams and with suppliers; support food preparation and execution in line with Tate Eats standards.
- Operate in a kitchen that aligns with gallery hours, enabling creativity and work life balance.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in a catering or kitchen environment with prior supervisory/management experience.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to manage stock, equipment, and supplier relationships.
- Strong knowledge of hygiene standards and food safety regulations, including COSHH.
