Job Title: Product Development Assistant (Soft Accessories – Knit Product Development) Location: London Employment Type: Full-time, Temporary (3 months initially) Pay: Up to £153 per day About Us: Tate Recruitment are partnering with a leader in the Luxury British Fashion industry, renowned for creating innovative and exquisite collections, whilst being committed to excellence in design, craftsmanship, and sustainability. Role Overview: We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Product Development Assistant to support our Product Development Manager. In this role, you will collaborate closely with our talented designers and cross-functional teams to manage the product development process for specific categories. From initial concept to finished product, you will play a key role in ensuring that every detail is meticulously executed. Key Responsibilities: Assist the Product Development Manager in managing the seasonal development critical paths to ensure all deadlines are met. Launch trials and new designs while coordinating closely with designers. Support or manage material sourcing, development, and prototyping for assigned categories. Order raw materials for prototypes and samples, ensuring all required information is accurate and complete. Organise and set up prototype fittings, keeping the Design and Technical Service teams informed. Attend all fittings from prototype to pre-production stages and ensure clear communication of feedback. Collaborate with Design and Merchandising to allocate styles to cloth and showroom samples. Maintain and update sample BOMs and handle sample amendments as necessary. Monitor sample deliveries to all showrooms during seasonal launches. Agree on pre-production fittings timetable with Technical Service and Global Sourcing. Take responsibility for production BOMs and oversee the collection handover to Supply Chain. Manage communications with suppliers, ensuring timely follow-up on prototyping and raw material developments. Address and resolve issues arising during or after the development of collections. Support costing activities for raw materials, prototypes, and finished products in partnership with PD Manager, Merchandising, and Global Sourcing. Monitor the Product Development budget and update raw material records. Organise and maintain archives of production standards and seasonal developments. Qualifications and Skills: Proven experience in product development within the Luxury Fashion industry. Strong knowledge of sourcing and developing raw materials. Exceptional organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively liaise with cross-functional teams and external vendors. Attention to detail and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
