Position Overview
We are seeking a photographer beginning their career who can think on their feet, follow processes, and collaborate in a specialist environment.
This role offers the chance to develop photographic practice in a unique setting, working with a diverse range of subjects and learning both cultural heritage and collections best practice.
The photographer will be guided to improve technical skills and encouraged to explore personal creativity.
Responsibilities
- Photograph works on paper and negatives, and assist senior photographers with complex artworks and conservation imaging.
- Record gallery spaces and artworks on display, including portraiture, editorial, and event shoots.
- Manage the entire workflow from capture to upload, ensuring images meet the highest standards and deadlines.
- Work across all four Tate galleries, the art store, and external locations.
Qualifications
- Recognised qualification or equivalent experience demonstrating practical and professional photographic skills.
- Confidence in operating high-end digital cameras, artificial lighting, and editing software.
- Knowledge of appropriate file formats and a sound technical understanding of photography.
- Willingness to apply best practice in an arts & heritage environment.
