Tate Eats is the hospitality arm of Tate, returning all profits to support the museum’s cultural vision. We operate restaurants, cafés, bars and a roastery that champions gender equality in the coffee supply chain. Staff run a variety of events ranging from film premieres to boardroom lunches, and are supported by state‑of‑the‑art kitchen spaces that foster creativity and biological sustainability. We are looking for an enthusiastic and creative Group Senior Sous Chef to join the back‑of‑house operations team at Tate Britain and Tate Modern.

Responsibilities & Qualifications

  • Lead kitchen teams to deliver high‑quality British cuisine in a large catering environment.
  • Have prior supervisory or management experience and a proven track record in kitchen operations.
  • Communicate effectively with suppliers and internal teams while managing stock and kitchen equipment.
  • Optimise food costs through efficient ordering, minimising waste and boosting profit margins.
  • Maintain the highest hygiene standards and possess excellent knowledge of COSHH and food safety.
  • Work creatively to develop menus that respond to Tate’s diverse programme.
