We're looking for a high‑performing Finance Manager who can hit the ground running and bring strong leadership, technical expertise, and a proactive approach to financial control within a fast‑paced renewables environment.
Rate: £450-£500 per day (Umbrella PAYE)
Hours: 37 per week - Monday to Friday - Hybrid (2/3 days on site)
Location: PH1 3AQ
Security Clearance: BPSS
About the Role
You will play a key role within the Renewables Centre of Excellence, taking ownership of the financial control and reporting for a wholly owned operational onshore wind portfolio. You'll ensure a smooth and accurate month‑end close, maintain robust balance sheet controls, and support statutory reporting requirements. You will also lead annual statutory audits, working closely with external auditors and finance colleagues across the wider business. Collaboration is central to this role - you'll help drive best practice, process improvements, and consistent reporting standards across the finance function.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the month‑end close process, reviewing and approving key journals
- Manage, mentor, and develop a team of accountants and finance analysts
- Own year‑end and half‑year reporting, including statutory accounts preparation and audit
- Ensure compliance with Group financial control policies and oversee balance sheet reconciliations
- Support the transition of completed development projects into the operational portfolio
- Continuously improve processes to strengthen financial control and reporting quality
What We're Looking For
- A fully qualified accountant (ACA/ACCA/CIMA) with practice or industry experience
- Strong technical knowledge of IFRS and FRS101
- Proven leadership skills with the ability to motivate and develop a team
- Experience producing high‑quality financial statements and working with auditors
- Excellent analytical skills and the ability to resolve complex finance issues
- Strong time‑management skills with the ability to balance multiple deadlines
- Confident communicator with a professional, adaptable approach
- Solid understanding of core financial systems and general accounting procedures
