Hitchin | Flexible Hours | 4 or 5 Short Days Per Week

Are you a highly organised and professional administrator who takes pride in producing exceptional work and keeping things running smoothly behind the scenes? Our client, a respected and growing professional services business based in the heart of Hitchin, is seeking a Part-Time Administrator to provide high-quality administrative and PA support across the organisation. This is a varied and rewarding role that would suit someone who enjoys supporting others, managing multiple priorities and maintaining the highest standards of professionalism and correspondence.

Offering flexibility across 4 or 5 short days per week, this opportunity is ideal for an experienced administrator looking for a role that can fit around other commitments while still allowing them to make a significant contribution to a successful business.

The Role

Working closely with the directors and wider team, you will play a key role in ensuring the smooth day-to-day running of the office. Responsibilities will include:

  • Diary and calendar management
  • Coordinating meetings, travel and accommodation arrangements
  • Preparing, formatting and proofreading professional client-facing documents
  • Managing correspondence and supporting communication activities
  • Maintaining company calendars, events and networking schedules
  • Organising company events and meetings
  • Providing general administrative support across the business and reception cover when required

About You

We’re looking for a candidate who is:

  • Reliable, professional and highly organised
  • Experienced in administration such as business support or PA duties
  • Able to manage multiple tasks efficiently and prioritise effectively
  • Confident producing accurate, polished correspondence and documentation
  • An excellent communicator, both written and verbal
  • Discreet and trustworthy when handling confidential information
  • Proactive, adaptable and happy working independently once trained
  • Comfortable using Microsoft Office, particularly Word
  • Happy to be office based and not looking to work from home
  • Possibly from the construction, architectural or planning industry - this may be an advantage

  • Flexible working pattern across 4 or 5 short days per week between the hours of 9am-5pm.
  • Employer pension contribution of 3% (employee contributes 5%)
  • 23 days’ annual leave plus bank holidays (pro rata)
  • Additional leave between Christmas and New Year (at employer discretion)
