We are looking for a highly organised and detail‑driven Buyer to join a growing purchasing team within a global thriving organisation. In this role, you will take ownership of planning and buying products, managing supplier orders, keeping inventory on track, and securing competitive pricing. You will work closely with other Buyers, Product Managers, and the sales team to keep operations running smoothly and ensure great service to suppliers and customers.
Buyer duties include:
- Managing purchasing for assigned product lines
- Monitoring orders from placement to delivery
- Ensuring inventory levels are accurate and well‑maintained
- Negotiating pricing and terms with suppliers
- Updating and maintaining purchasing and pricing data in internal systems
- Checking and acknowledging supplier order confirmations
- Expediting any delayed orders to keep stock flowing
- Providing admin support to sales for customer accounts
Experience and skills required:
- Strong data entry skills with excellent accuracy
- Experience using ERP/MRP systems (SAP, Oracle, JD Edwards, AS400, PeopleSoft or similar)
- Background in manufacturing or working with Bills of Materials (preferred)
- Advanced Excel skills and confidence working with large data sets
- Strong communication skills with the ability to present information clearly
- Solid numerical skills and the ability to follow written or verbal instructions
