We are seeking an experienced Interim Quality Director to provide senior leadership across quality assurance, governance and risk during a critical period for the organisation. This is a high-impact, delivery-focused role requiring someone who can rapidly assess risk, strengthen frameworks, and operate with confidence at Executive and Board level.

Key priorities will include:

  • Developing and embedding a robust quality assurance and oversight framework
  • Triangulating safety, patient/service user experience and outcomes data to provide a clear assessment of the organisational risk profile
  • Working in partnership with the Quality Improvement team to establish effective learning and improvement frameworks
  • Supporting the organisation’s regulatory oversight and external partnership relationships
  • Driving progress against OTIP delivery priorities
  • Reviewing the organisation’s risk strategy and providing expert advice on Board-level risk appetite

Candidate profile:

  • Significant senior leadership experience in quality, governance or assurance within a regulated healthcare environment
  • Ideally currently operating (or recently operated) as a Quality Director / Director of Quality role within another NHS Trust
  • Proven ability to operate confidently at Board and system level
  • Strong analytical capability, with experience triangulating data to assess and articulate organisational risk
  • Comfortable working at pace and delivering impact in a short-term interim assignment
  • Experience supporting regulatory engagement and oversight

This role would suit an experienced interim Quality Director who can step in quickly, bring external perspective from another Trust, and make an immediate difference.
