About the Role
As a Paraplanner in our UK New Business team, you will analyse prospective clients’ financial arrangements and produce detailed recommendations relating to pension transfers, bond surrenders, investment taxation and overall suitability. Working closely with your Team Leader, you’ll play a key role in formulating asset‑allocation strategies and preparing clear, compliant suitability reports.
This position offers variety, responsibility and the opportunity to contribute to wider initiatives that improve efficiency and client service.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Assess client objectives, existing holdings, financial situation and time horizons to propose suitable asset‑allocation recommendations
- Analyse complex or specialised financial planning scenarios
- Review pensions, investment bonds and other tax‑efficient structures to determine suitability for transfer or restructuring
- Produce high‑quality suitability reports that clearly document recommendations
- Deliver training to internal teams where required
- Support ongoing projects aimed at enhancing operational processes
- Work in line with the company’s Training & Competence scheme and uphold all regulatory requirements
- Complete initial and annual Fit & Proper assessments as part of the role’s regulatory responsibilities
What We’re Looking For
- Degree or equivalent professional experience
- Level 4 Qualification preferred (e.g., CII Diploma in Financial Planning, CISI Investment Advice Diploma)
- Minimum 3 years’ financial services experience
- Strong attention to detail with exceptional organisational and time‑management skills
- Confident working under pressure in a dynamic, team-oriented environment
- Strong understanding of financial planning principles, investment structures and suitability requirements
- Analytical, quantitative mindset with excellent problem-solving ability
