We're looking for a senior‑level Application Architect to take ownership of a wide portfolio of enterprise applications and help drive the firm’s long‑term technology strategy. This role sits within the Strategy & Architecture team and is ideal for someone with deep experience in enterprise applications, strong architectural governance skills, and a background in legal or professional services.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Owning a portfolio of enterprise applications across multiple business areas (HR, Finance, Compliance, Marketing, etc.)
- Leading architectural governance, design reviews and ensuring adherence to standards, patterns and principles
- Working closely with vendors and managing technical engagement across projects
- Taking ownership of current and upcoming projects, including cloud transformation initiatives
- Developing and maintaining 2‑, 3‑ and 5‑year technology roadmaps
- Assessing new applications, technologies and SaaS solutions, ensuring they align with the wider enterprise strategy
- Designing integrations across COTS and hybrid SaaS applications
- Working with stakeholders at all levels, including partners and C‑suite, to explain complex architectural decisions in clear, accessible terms
- Creating and maintaining architectural artefacts, documentation and non‑functional requirements
- Helping to mature the firm’s Microsoft ecosystem, including M365, SharePoint Online and Azure services
- Researching new technologies and contributing to continuous improvement across the architecture function
Must‑Have
- Senior experience in enterprise application architecture
- Experience designing, integrating and supporting off‑the‑shelf (COTS) and SaaS applications
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft 365 and Microsoft Azure (IaaS, PaaS, SaaS)
- Experience working in a mid‑to‑large organisation, ideally with a global presence
- Strong stakeholder management skills and the ability to communicate technical concepts to both technical and non‑technical audiences
- Experience leading projects end‑to‑end from a due‑diligence and architecture perspective
- Ability to manage multiple enterprise projects and ensure roadmap alignment
Highly Desirable
- Experience working in‑house within a law firm or professional services environment
- Hands‑on experience with legal/professional applications such as: InTapp, Aderant, SAP SuccessFactors, ViewPoint, iManage
- TOGAF certification
- Azure Solutions Architect certification
- Understanding of enterprise governance frameworks
