Technical Service Engineer/Consultant

Are you a practical, technically minded professional who enjoys solving problems, working directly with customers, and making a positive environmental impact?

Our client is an international environmental solutions business that develops and supplies innovative, sustainable technologies for wastewater treatment and cleaning applications across a range of industries. Due to continued growth, they are seeking a Technical Service Engineer/ Consultant to join their team.

This is a varied role combining technical support, customer engagement, equipment assembly, site visits, and system optimisation. You'll play a key role in helping customers achieve efficient, environmentally responsible operational outcomes while supporting the continued growth of the business.

The Role

You will work across the workshop, office, and customer sites, providing technical expertise and practical support for wastewater treatment systems and related equipment.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Building, assembling and testing equipment using mechanical and electrical components.
  • Supporting the installation, maintenance and optimisation of wastewater treatment systems.
  • Visiting customer sites to assess performance, diagnose issues and implement practical solutions.
  • Delivering technical demonstrations, training and customer support.
  • Preparing technical reports, documentation and maintaining accurate records.
  • Supporting product testing, quality assurance and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Identifying opportunities to improve equipment, processes and system performance.
  • Developing strong customer relationships and supporting business development activities, including meetings, demonstrations and exhibitions.
  • Providing occasional support to another division of the business, which may involve travel, site visits and technical investigations.

About You

We are looking for a motivated individual who combines technical ability with excellent customer-facing skills.

Essential Requirements

  • Level 2 qualification in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, or equivalent hands-on experience.
  • Experience working with mechanical and/or electrical equipment.
  • Strong fault-finding and problem-solving abilities.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to explain technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Good IT skills with the ability to produce professional reports and documentation.
  • Full UK driving licence and access to your own vehicle.
  • Comfortable travelling to customer sites and working independently when required.

Desirable Experience

  • Wastewater treatment, water treatment, environmental services, engineering, or a related technical sector.
  • Pumps, dosing systems, pipework, tanks or electrical controls.
  • Commissioning, maintenance or troubleshooting of technical equipment.
  • Delivering customer training or technical demonstrations.
  • Marine or industrial sector experience.
