Job – Childcare/Family Law Paralegal
Location – Birchington, Kent, CT
Hours – 9am to 5pm – Hybrid min 3 days in the office
Salary – £26K to £30K Dependent on experience

This is a great opportunity to join a great family advice and assistance law firm based in Kent.
You’ll be joining a dynamic team, supporting a broad range of family law matters including Public and Private Family Law
As a Paralegal within the Family Law department, you will play a vital role in supporting fee earners and clients across a range of sensitive and complex legal matters. Working under the supervision of a Team Leader, you will ensure client needs are met with professionalism, efficiency, and compassion.
Key Responsibilities for the Childcare Paralegal role:
- Manage and progress family law files competently within defined procedures and policies
- Draft legal documentation including Statements, Notices, Applications, and Legal Forms
- Handle client correspondence, telephone queries, and triage communications through electronic systems
- Conduct client appointments and provide case advice (if needed and under supervision), and support financial eligibility assessments for legal aid or private terms
- Support fee earners with case progression, including court attendances and professional liaison
- Maintain accurate records using electronic case management systems
- Prepare files for billing and closure, ensuring compliance with Legal Aid Agency, SRA and SQM requirements
- Participate in general office and administrative duties, and training activities as needed

- Solid understanding of Family Law and Legal Aid processes Experience
- Essential: Previous experience working on family law and childcare proceedings
- Desirable: Familiarity with electronic case management systems and Local Authority case processes
