My client is a single-source provider of world class fire and security solutions, protecting the assets, property, staff and data of leading UK, Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland organisations. They are seeking a Fire & Security Installation Engineer working from our Southwest Office. You will play a key role in delivering the installation, commissioning, and handover of fire detection and security systems across commercial and industrial projects throughout the Southwest. You will ensure all systems are installed to the highest standards, fully tested, and compliant with relevant regulations.
Responsibilities:
- Install, commission, and hand over fire detection, CCTV, access control, and intruder alarm systems
- Work from design drawings and specifications to meet project requirements
- Program, test, and commission systems to British Standards and client expectations
- Plan and coordinate works with the project management team
- Identify and resolve technical issues during installation and commissioning phases
- Provide training and demonstrations to clients during handover
- Complete commissioning documentation, certificates, and reports accurately and on time
- Ensure compliance with all site health and safety requirements, PPE use, and risk assessments
- Maintain tools, test equipment, and company vehicle to a high standard
Experience and Certifications Required:
- Proven experience installing and commissioning fire detection and security systems (CCTV, access control, intruder alarms) 5 Years Minimum Essential
- Strong technical knowledge of BS 5839, BS EN 50132, BS EN 50133, and BS EN 50131 standards
- Ability to interpret technical drawings, wiring diagrams, and specifications
- Excellent fault finding and problem solving skills
- Understanding of networking and IP-based systems
- Full Clean UK driving licence
- Must have fully checkable work history and will be vetted and DBS Checked
- Must have right to work in the UK
- Industry recognised qualifications in fire and security systems (FIA units, manufacturer training) - desirable
- Experience with manufacturers such as Advanced, CTec, Hikvision, Paxton, Texecom - desirable
- ECS/CSCS Card - essential
- IPAF / PASMA certification – desirable
- Must have own hand and power tools. But these would be replaced if damaged on a job
