The role purpose is to:
- Assist and deputise for the EHSQ manager during absences such as holidays and as and when required.
- Ensure compliance with all site Certifications.
- Support the maintenance of high-level Food Safety awareness in conjunction with the EHSQ Manager.
- Promote and drive a robust and sustainable food safety culture.
- Ensure all Quality tasks are timely executed to a high standard.
- Collaborate with other counterparts to ensure that execution of globally harmonized processes and procedures are established and maintained.
- Support and drive a culture of continuous improvement.
- Manage projects relating to quality and food safety improvements.
Main Accountability & Responsibilities
- Supporting the EHSQ Manager with site certification audits – take active role in preparing for site certification audits.
- Supporting the development and continuous improvement of all food safety, food defence and quality programs.
- Providing training for all the above programs:
- HACCP and Prerequisite Programs (Lead the HACCP/Food Safety team, participate in Food Safety risk assessment, Coordinate the monitoring and verification activities).
- Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP).
- Supporting the development and continuous improvement of Allergen Management programs and controls.
- Leading and conducting root cause analysis and implementing corrective actions for both internal and external audit non-conformances in conjunction with Operations / Key stakeholders.
- Lead internal audit program – schedule audits and ensure NC follow up to closure.
- Carry out internal audits as per the schedule – complete GMP audits.
- Updating and continually improving the site Food Defense Plans and program in conjunction with global changes / requirements.
- Updating and continually improving the site Quality System Management (documents, trainings, reporting records, reviews).
- Integrating quality into the Journey.
- Supporting Product Incidents, Recalls & Withdrawals in conjunction with the EHSQ Manager.
- Proactive owner of Element 16 in the J2EE.
- Direct contact with Health local Authority/Veterinary Department to resolve issues.
- Direct Contact with Ecolab / Pest Control – liaise with them to arrange site inspections and follow up on any recommendations / actions identified during the pest control inspections.

EHSQS accountabilities and mandatory knowledge:
- EHSQ policy.
- Product Protection Principles (PPPs).
- Stop Work Authority.
- Risk assessment (risk matrix) related to specific tasks and related operating procedure.
- Good Manufacturing Practices.
- HACCP/Food Safety.
- Allergen Controls.
- Food Defense / Security.
- Incident reporting and notification requirements (Gensuite).
- Suspicious package.
INVOLVEMENT IN J2E:
- Specific requirements for the assigned element (also in the role of element co-owner).
- Use automated system to track actions, inspections, improvements of EHSQSMS in Framework Scorecard.
Skills and experience required:
- Bachelor's degree with at least 5 years of quality experience in the Food Industry.
- Good knowledge of spoken and written English.
- Quality management, Allergen Management and food safety management within the food industry (at least 5 years) and robust understanding of legislation relating to the food industry.
- Trained to Level 4 (Advanced Standard) in Food Safety & HACCP or equivalent level of knowledge and experience (desired).
- Thorough understanding and working knowledge of Food safety, HACCP, Food Legislation, all GFSI standards and other customer standards.
- Ability to lead and manage change and effectively pass on the information in a concise and effective manner to ensure smooth transition and compliance.
- Ability to provide concise and accurate reports in a timely manner which are easily understood by end users.
- Experience of working in a FMCG environment.
- Diplomacy and strong interpersonal skills.
- Effective communicator both verbally and written.
- Effective influencing and negotiating skills.
- Project Management skills.
- A continuous improvement mindset and approach.
- A good understanding of processes within Food Industry.
