About this role:
In this role you will act as the project manager on specific nutrition research projects and regulatory activities globally. You will manage nutrition research projects with CROs, Universities, and Research Institutes as required. Together with the Global Nutrition team, you will assist in development of strategies for communication and dissemination of those projects to key stakeholder audiences.
Accountabilities:
Act as the research project manager with external collaborators to drive the Tate & Lyle nutrition science agenda.
Manage studies on a day to day basis during study conduct which includes;
- Project Manager role for overall conduct and cost/timeline control Liaison with CRO for all operational issues
- Responsible for level 1 and 2 monitoring and documentation
- Set up audit (identify and reference check auditors, define scope, attend in-person, draft action plan after audit report)
Control and accountability for all internal documentation, reports, meeting minutes, Trial Master File
Timely sharing of key decisions and outcomes with internal stakeholders when relevant
Keep abreast of emerging science and policy issues related to these projects and inform the global nutrition team of developments
Draft and publish scientific papers, and present the scientific output at conferences
Review and critically evaluate the scientific literature to assess the substantiation of potential claims
Collaborate with internal teams and external stakeholders to assist in the development of science-based communication materials as results emerge from our studies and as new research becomes available relevant to T&L ingredients
Liaison with Platform teams to support customer communication and to provide confidential updates
Lead study report writing.
Skills and Experience:
Ph.D. in nutrition or closely related field
2-4 years experience in the food or healthcare industry
Candidate needs to have knowledge in one of the following areas - carbohydrate metabolism, satiety, fibers, sweeteners, skin microbiome or gut health
Proven ability to design and conduct clinical studies and understanding of statistical analysis
Excellent (verbal and written) communication skills
Self-starter/independent working ability
Strong team player and supportive of colleagues to meet team goals
Ability to deliver strategies for communicating to industry and key opinion leaders in nutrition/food science arena
Proven ability to manage several projects simultaneously
Strong team player, collaborative / collegiate working style, and supportive of colleagues globally to meet team goals
Able to travel up to 10-20% of the time
