Role Purpose The Senior Manager – Data and AI leads the strategy, design, delivery and lifecycle management of enterprise Data, Analytics and AI products that enable business transformation and deliver measurable value. The role owns the enterprise Data & AI Product Portfolio, ensuring business demand is translated into scalable, reusable and governed data products — catalogued, assigned accountable Product Owners, and continuously improved as enduring strategic assets rather than one-off projects.

Providing leadership across demand management, solution design, delivery execution, vendor management and AI innovation, the role drives the development and scaling of Data, Analytics, Data Science, Generative AI and Agentic AI use cases in partnership with business stakeholders. It requires strong leadership, commercial acumen, vendor management expertise and the credibility to engage senior stakeholders across the organisation.

Key Responsibilities
  • Strategy & Innovation Support the development and execution of the enterprise Data, Analytics and AI strategy, and drive adoption of Generative and Agentic AI capabilities across the business. Identify and develop innovative opportunities that deliver measurable business value.
  • Data Product Portfolio Management & Governance Define, establish and manage the enterprise Data & AI Product Portfolio aligned to strategic priorities, leading portfolio prioritisation and investment decisions. Maintain a roadmap of reusable data products, analytics capabilities and AI solutions within a product-centric operating model with clear ownership, funding and lifecycle management. Ensure delivered data products are registered in the enterprise Data Catalogue with accountable Product Owners assigned, and comply with the metadata and governance standards defined by the Enterprise Data Governance function. Partner with the Enterprise Data Governance and Data Quality functions to apply their standards, and monitor adoption, business value and satisfaction to drive continuous product enhancement.
  • Solution Design Leadership Lead and develop the D&A Solution Design capability, coaching Solution Designers and delivery teams, and establish design standards and best practices. Ensure solution designs align to business requirements, enterprise architecture and security standards, and embed the data governance, quality, metadata and catalogue requirements defined by the Enterprise Data Governance function. Partner with the Data Platform and Engineering teams to ensure solutions are built on and maximise reuse of the enterprise data platform — integrating SAP and other core source systems — and meet scalability, operability and other non-functional requirements.
  • Delivery & Data/AI Product Management Manage the end-to-end lifecycle of Data, Analytics and AI products from ideation to retirement, overseeing prioritisation, resource planning and delivery governance. Ensure products are delivered within agreed timelines, scope, budget and quality, transitioning them into sustainable product and support models with mechanisms for value realisation. Lead the secure and responsible deployment of AI, Generative AI and Agentic AI solutions. Manage strategic delivery partners and suppliers to drive delivery performance and innovation, partnering with Procurement on commercial arrangements.
  • Stakeholder Engagement & Leadership Act as a trusted advisor to business and technology leaders, presenting strategy, roadmaps, business cases and delivery outcomes to leadership teams, governance forums and external audiences. Build strong relationships across business functions and influence strategic decision-making.
  • Continuous Improvement Drive operational excellence across solution design, delivery and AI capabilities, with KPIs covering product adoption, data quality, catalogue health and value realisation. Monitor and improve portfolio health and business value, and ensure compliance with corporate governance, security, risk and regulatory requirements.
Skills & Experience
  • Essential Proven leadership experience in Data, Analytics, AI or technology delivery, managing teams and delivery partners. Strong Data Product Management experience, ideally within an enterprise data product portfolio or product-centric operating model. Strong solution design and enterprise delivery-management experience across Data, Analytics and AI initiatives, including AI and Generative AI solutions. Strong SAP delivery and solution experience. Experience applying Data Governance, Data Quality and Data Catalogue standards within delivery, in partnership with a governance function. Excellent stakeholder management, influencing and communication skills, with the credibility to engage senior stakeholders. Exceptional analytical, problem-solving and decision-making abilities, with experience leading cross-functional teams.
  • Preferred Experience establishing Data Product Ownership models and leading Data Product organisations or Centres of Excellence. Experience with enterprise Data Catalogue platforms such as Microsoft Purview, Collibra or Alation. Experience with enterprise operational and planning systems such as OMP and industrial data platforms. Experience with enterprise AI governance, Responsible AI and AI operating models. Scrum Master, Agile, Cloud, Data or AI certifications; experience leading global teams and strategic transformation programmes.
