Position Summary
The Supplier Quality Technologist will execute and maintain Supplier Quality Management programs to ensure compliance with the Corporate Quality System. The Supplier Quality Technologist will be responsible for conducting supplier audits for their own category/region as well as those requested by other SQA Technologists and executing the SCAR process for responsible suppliers. The Supplier Quality Technologist works closely with Procurement, Regulatory and New Product Development to ensure suppliers and materials are compliant with FDA, relevant global regulations and GFSI. The Supplier Quality Technologist will also be responsible for collecting and maintaining all required supplier quality and regulatory documents for their designated category/region/suppliers.
Roles & Responsibilities
- Collect and maintain supplier quality and regulatory documents.
- Complete audits and focus visits on suppliers of any material category as required by the change request workflow process for new suppliers, supplier management verification program or as triggered by the supplier management procedure.
- Execute the Supplier Corrective Action Request program, ensuring thorough root cause analyses are performed and timely, effective Corrective and Preventative Action (CAPA) plans are implemented.
- Other duties and projects as assigned.
Required Education & Work Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in a scientific discipline (e.g. Food Science, Chemistry, Biology, Microbiology) from an accredited college/university.
- PCQI (FSMA, FSVP); training provided.
- GFSI Lead Auditor certification; training provided.
Preferred Education & Work Experience
- 2+ years of experience working in a GFSI (BRC / IFS / SQF / FSSC22000) environment, HACCP, & Food Safety.
- Experience performing audits of internal and external suppliers/facilities.
- Utilization of Quality Assurance systems and supplier corrective action programs.
- Experience of working independently to influence others and achieve objectives within a framework of authorisation.
