The Regulatory Affairs Specialist reports directly to the Director of Global Regulatory Affairs. This role will provide in depth a review of regulatory matters for ASR Group products, and activity in the UK and EU. It will act as the link with authorities, consultants and professional bodies on all regulatory matters and participate in company compliance initiatives. This offers great opportunities to work collaboratively across our international colleagues in Europe and the US. Alongside this there are other projects you can get involved with including specification systems and as it is a new role it comes with excellent opportunities to progress & develop. Additionally, this individual will be heavily involved in making a positive contribution to implementing key legislative changes. This role will be responsible for providing excellent customer service and maintaining positive business relationships with both internal and external customers and vendors.
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES
- Write, Review and Approve Pack copy, online product information and marketing materials for regulatory compliance.
- Ensure regulatory compliance with food safety, quality as it relates to UK, EU and GFSI (BRC) requirements, Organic, Fairtrade, Halal, and Kosher.
- Monitor changes in legislation and regulatory requirements, proactively assessing the impact on business and updating senior management team compliance protocols as necessary.
- Support the development and implementation of regulatory strategies for existing ingredients and new ingredients/products in the UK and EU regions ensuring compliance.
- Provide regulatory review of product compliance when in-depth analysis/review.
- Support the design and maintenance of Technical Specifications and other documentation in ASR Group’s Product Lifecycle Management Software (PLM), ensure all information is correct and meets relevant EU regulation requirement.
- Provide regulatory training and guidance for the quality and technical teams in Europe.
WORK EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
- Professional Experience – demonstrable experience in regulatory affairs is preferred.
- Recent experience in the Food & Beverage or Consumer Packaged Goods industry is strongly preferred.
- Experience technical specification review and document creation.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Regulatory Affairs, Food Science, Chemistry, Business Administration or related field is required.
- Knowledge of the Food & Beverage or Consumer Packaged Goods (CPG) industry is strongly preferred.
