The Opportunity
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Packing Team Manager to lead our packing operations across 8 high‑speed packing lines, supporting the production of up to 60,000 tonnes of product annually. This is a key leadership position responsible for performance, efficiency, safety, quality, and continuous improvement within the department. Key Responsibilities
- Lead the packing team (approx. 30 employees) to meet or exceed annual production targets.
- Monitor and report on production performance for each line.
- Partner with Planning and Maintenance teams to coordinate production schedules, changeovers, and planned maintenance.
- Manage operating costs within budget, with a focus on labour and contract spend.
- Improve technical performance using KPIs such as OEE.
- Drive improvements in safety, hygiene, and quality, ensuring audit compliance and corrective actions where needed.
- Reduce waste—including packaging material, downtime, and process inefficiencies.
- Champion LEAN principles and support the site’s Continuous Improvement culture.
- Deliver small improvement projects and support large‑scale corporate initiatives.

Work Experience
- Background in food processing, FMCG, or high‑volume manufacturing.
- Experience managing multiple high‑speed packing lines and leading a team of 20+.
- Knowledge of safety management systems (risk assessments, permits to work, auditing, etc.).
- Understanding of BRC or similar quality management systems.
- Hands‑on application of LEAN tools in an established CI environment.
- Experience with CAPEX projects, installation, and commissioning (desirable).
- Awareness of automated control systems (desirable).
Qualifications
- Degree in an Engineering discipline – essential.
- Formal LEAN Manufacturing or Continuous Improvement training – desirable.
