The Opportunity

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Packing Team Manager to lead our packing operations across 8 high‑speed packing lines, supporting the production of up to 60,000 tonnes of product annually. This is a key leadership position responsible for performance, efficiency, safety, quality, and continuous improvement within the department. If you are a strong people leader with a passion for operational excellence, this is a fantastic opportunity to make a significant impact in a fast‑moving manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the packing team (approx. 30 employees) to meet or exceed annual production targets.
  • Monitor and report on production performance for each line.
  • Partner with Planning and Maintenance teams to coordinate production schedules, changeovers, and planned maintenance.
  • Manage operating costs within budget, with a focus on labour and contract spend.
  • Improve technical performance using KPIs such as OEE.
  • Drive improvements in safety, hygiene, and quality, ensuring audit compliance and corrective actions where needed.
  • Reduce waste—including packaging material, downtime, and process inefficiencies.
  • Champion LEAN principles and support the site’s Continuous Improvement culture.
  • Deliver small improvement projects and support large‑scale corporate initiatives.
  • Foster a positive, engaging environment aligned with our Employer of Choice values.

Work Experience

  • Background in food processing, FMCG, or high‑volume manufacturing.
  • Experience managing multiple high‑speed packing lines and leading a team of 20+.
  • Knowledge of safety management systems (risk assessments, permits to work, auditing, etc.).
  • Understanding of BRC or similar quality management systems.
  • Hands‑on application of LEAN tools in an established CI environment.
  • Awareness of automated control systems (desirable).
