Overview: This role is working a 3 shift (1 week days, 1 week PM's, 1 week Nights), an average of 39 hours per week (6am-2pm, 2pm-10pm, 10pm-6am) at our Normanton site. The role will be supporting the manufacturing team producing various packed sugar products.
As a Machine Technician you will:
- Ensure that all products are produced in line with customer specification.
- Confirm that company quality and hygiene procedures are followed in order to maintain the safety and integrity of the final product.
- Ensure paperwork is completed correctly and promptly in line with company procedures.
- Report and escalate any non-conforming product in line with company quality procedures.
- Communicate with colleagues across the factory to ensure minimum production downtime in the event of line stoppage.
- Make sure that waste targets are met and improved upon where possible.
- Ensure that packaging and other related consumables are used effectively to minimise wastage and maintain accurate stock levels.
- Provide machine setup and adjustment to production line, in order to minimise downtime. This will include making technical adjustments and fault finding which may involve some manual handling activities.
- Build effective working relationships with colleagues across all departments within the factory, thus aiding in effective communication channels.
Champion all Health, Safety, Quality and Environmental targets.
Qualifications:
- Experience in production machinery operation.
- Ability to work unsupervised and use own initiative.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Good organisation skills with the ability to manage a changing workload.
- Excellent attendance and timekeeping.
