Tatar Bunar is a Besarabian restaurant in Shoreditch, celebrating the food, wine and culture of Southern Ukraine and Besarabia. Featured in the Michelin Guide, we are looking for a talented Sous Chef to join our growing team as we enter an exciting new chapter.
About the Role
We are looking for a strong Sous Chef who is passionate about Eastern European cooking and its traditions, team development and delivering consistently excellent service. You will work closely with our Head Chef and leadership team to help drive standards, support menu development and lead the kitchen during service.
Responsibilities
- Support the Head Chef in the day-to-day running of the kitchen
- Lead and motivate the kitchen team during service
- Maintain exceptional food quality and presentation standards
- Assist with menu development and seasonal changes
- Manage ordering, stock control and waste reduction
- Ensure compliance with food safety and HACCP procedures
- Train and develop junior chefs
- Help create a positive, professional and collaborative kitchen culture
What We're Looking For
- Previous experience as a Sous Chef or a strong Junior Sous Chef ready for the next step
- Experience in high-quality restaurants
- Strong organisational and leadership skills
- Excellent understanding of food safety and kitchen operations
