You will come in as a trusted IT applications expert, working closely with business stakeholders and technical teams to understand requirements, shape the right solutions and ensure applications are delivered effectively. You will play a key role in improving system performance, supporting change and helping teams work smarter through reliable, practical and future-focused technology solutions.
You will also act as an operational IT business partner, supporting site teams with application solutions, compliance requirements and technology input into operational and capital projects. The role will help connect business requirements with practical system improvements, ensuring solutions are reliable, well governed and embedded effectively with users.
Key Deliverables:
- Support cost-effective application delivery through robust project planning, accurate scoping, resource estimation and risk management.
- Track and support benefits realisation by ensuring application projects deliver measurable business value, efficiencies and process improvements.
- Build strong relationships with stakeholders, acting as a trusted advisor to ensure application solutions align with business needs and customer outcomes.
- Support change management and user adoption through communication, training, go-live support and post-implementation review.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to gather requirements, define functional specifications and translate business needs into practical IT application solutions.
- Oversee development, testing, implementation and issue resolution to ensure solutions meet design standards, quality expectations and operational requirements.
- Maintain clear documentation, process maps, change logs and audit-ready records to support effective governance and knowledge transfer.
- Own and support key factory applications, ensuring all application support activity follows agreed GIS processes, governance and escalation routes.
- Manage incidents, escalations and service issues, ensuring timely resolution and minimal business disruption.
- Identify and recommend upgrades, patches and enhancements to improve application performance, security and usability.
- Stay updated on emerging technologies, cloud platforms and development best practice to identify opportunities for improvement and innovation.
- Ensure application solutions meet cyber security, access control, data protection, documentation and Tata Code of Conduct requirements.
Critical Success Factors:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or a related field, with proven experience in IT consulting, application development, implementation and support.
- Strong stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to translate business requirements into clear system improvements.
- Good understanding of application support, incident management, change control and service continuity.
- Ability to manage priorities across business-as-usual support, improvement activity and project delivery.
Desirable Success Factors:
- Relevant qualifications or certifications such as ITIL, Agile, PMP, Prince2 or technology-specific certifications.
- Experience with reporting tools, databases and cloud-based applications.
- Knowledge of project delivery methodologies such as Agile, Waterfall or hybrid delivery approaches.
