Project Engineer - Infotainment in Woking

Due to our continued growth we are now recruiting for a Project Engineer – Infotainment to be based at our customer’s site in Woking.

Our Embedded Systems Solutions department (ESS) encompasses all activities outlined under the Automotive SPICE (ASPICE) process framework, including systems engineering, software engineering, coding, and all levels of functional testing. Beyond core development, ESS also integrates critical supporting processes such as project management, risk assessment, functional safety, and cybersecurity, ensuring compliance with ASPICE standards and delivering reliable, secure, and high-quality embedded systems & solutions.

Role Summary:

We are seeking a Project Engineer to lead the development, integration, validation, and launch of automotive electronic systems, with a focus on wireless charging, USB charging solutions, Radio Tuners and Infotainment ECU vehicle technologies.

Dimension of function:

The successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating cross-functional teams, managing technical deliverables, supporting supplier activities, and ensuring products are delivered on time, to cost, and to quality targets throughout the vehicle development lifecycle

Areas of responsibility:

• Lead the development, integration, and launch of automotive infotainment, connectivity, and charging systems.
• Support product roadmap development and define technical requirements and specifications for new components and systems.
• Support supplier nomination, sourcing activities, cost optimisation, and BOM cost analysis.
• Act as the technical interface to Tier-1 suppliers.
• Coordinate engineering changes, technical reviews, concessions, rework activities, and release documentation.
• Work with suppliers to review technical specifications, drawings, PFMEA, validation plans, and compliance requirements.
• Own the delivery of connected vehicle features including SiriusXM, wireless charging, USB charging systems, 12v power sockets and infotainment ECU.
• Coordinate cross-functional teams including software, hardware, validation, purchasing, manufacturing, quality, and suppliers.
• Manage project timing, cost, quality, risks, and technical deliverables throughout the product development lifecycle.
• Plan and support vehicle integration and validation testing, including infotainment functionality, charging performance, thermal assessments, and customer usage scenarios.
• Drive issue investigation, root-cause analysis, and corrective actions for vehicle and system-level concerns.
• Manage engineering changes, design reviews, release documentation, concessions, and build support activities.
• Support prototype builds, production trials, and launch readiness to ensure successful programme delivery.
• Act as the primary technical and project interface between internal stakeholders and suppliers.
• Ensure compliance with automotive standards, customer requirements, and programme targets.

Knowledge, Skills & Experience:

• Experience in automotive electronics, electrical systems, or consumer electronics integration.
• Strong supplier management and stakeholder coordination skills.
• Knowledge of wireless charging technologies, USB charging systems, Radio Tuners and vehicle electrical architectures.
• Experience with vehicle validation, test planning, and issue investigation.
• Understanding of product development processes, engineering change management, and launch activities.
• Ability to analyse technical issues and drive root-cause resolution with suppliers and cross-functional teams.
• Strong project management, communication, and reporting skills.
• Experience working within automotive OEM or Tier 1 supplier environments
