Due to our continued growth we are now recruiting for Technical Lead - Propulsion Integration to be based at our o ffice in Warwick .
Our Engineering Research and Development department (ER&D) is a fast growing function within Tata Technologies Limited that is assembled to work on exciting projects globally for multiple customers.
It comprises highly specialized engineers across Automotive, Aerospace and Industrial Heavy Machinery.
Scope of Role
As a Technical Leader for Propulsion Systems, you will provide technical leadership across multidisciplinary engineering teams, ensuring the successful delivery of propulsion system requirements throughout the product lifecycle.
The role is responsible for applying systems engineering principles to define, integrate and validate complex propulsion solutions while managing technical interfaces across multiple vehicle domains.
You will lead cross-functional collaboration, driving programme execution, risk management and engineering excellence to achieve performance, cost and timing targets.
Acting as a key technical authority, you will support strategic decision-making, resolve complex technical issues and ensure alignment between customer requirements, system architecture and programme objectives.
- Area of Responsibility
- Lead the integration and delivery of Propulsion System software, controls, and calibration activities across vehicle program.
- Ensure alignment between hardware, software, controls, and system requirements to achieve propulsion performance and vehicle attribute targets.
- Coordinate software release planning and deployment activities in line with program milestones and gateway deliverables.
- Manage cross-functional collaboration between controls, calibration, systems, validation, and commodity engineering teams.
- Lead propulsion system verification and validation activities, including MIL, SIL, HIL, vehicle-level testing, and sign-off events.
- Support the development and validation of torque control, energy management, thermal management, drivability, efficiency, performance, and diagnostic functions.
- Review and approve software change requests, issue investigations, and corrective actions to ensure robust software delivery.
- Drive root cause analysis and resolution of vehicle integration, software, calibration, and controls-related issues identified during development and validation phases.
- Ensure software maturity and readiness for prototype, DV, PV, launch, and production gateways.
- Support vehicle-level testing, data analysis, and issue triage activities, ensuring propulsion system functionality meets safety, quality, performance, and customer requirements.
- Manage functional integration and validation of key propulsion features including drivability, regenerative braking, torque delivery, charging interactions, diagnostics, and thermal control strategies.

- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including program teams, manufacturing, purchasing, quality, and development teams.

Qualification
Bachelor’s or Master's degree in Mechanical / Automotive Engineering or related discipline
