Due to continued growth, we are recruiting for a Lead Engineer – Cockpit role.
THE ROLE
The Lead Engineeris responsible for leadership of thesub system engineers and is responsible fordeliverables for all aspects of defined component(s) / system(s).
AREA OF RESPONSIBILITY
This positionisresponsible forestablishing, planningand running the engineering sub systemmeetings to ensureappropriate crossfunctional representation and input from all relevant areas.
You will have responsibility for
- Engineering ownership ofgiven commodities
- Delivery of given commodities on time, on cost andto engineering specifications
- Establishing theteamworkplan
- Ensuring progress is made by following up actions with their owners.
- Publishing minutes from each meeting
- Ensuring that the engineering sub-systemdelivers itsobjectivesand targets (technical and business)
- Ensuring that programme timingobjectivesare met
- Communicating team progressto management
- Ensuring the effective application of APQP to manage system/ component delivery
- Ensuring vehicle builds are supported with parts at the required level
- Ensuring that issues are addressed and closed off
- Ensuring that issues thatcannot be resolvedare escalated to Module Leader
- Identifyingall risks to the programme.
- Ensuring maturation ofcomponentand subsystemsin line with project planrequirements
- KNOWLEDGE / EXPERIENCE
- Proven project managementcapabilitydemonstratedby recent delivery on time & budgetwithin a product development environment.
- Engineering knowledge of defined component(s) / system(s) design, function, performance, production & manufacturing requirements,
- Excellent communications skills, demonstratedability to communicate at all levels,
- Significant experiencein use of engineering tools FMEA, Six Sigma, problem resolution etc.
- Successful history ofdelivery within the automotiveproduct developmentsector.
- Degree in relevant Engineering discipline or equivalent experience.
Preferred
- CAD Literacy: ability to manipulate and interrogate CAD data and use associated visualisation tools.
- Ability to generate CAD data in Catia v5/6would be an advantage.
- Working knowledge ofproject delivery processes e. g. PPAP Working
