Due to our continued growth we are now recruiting for a Triage Lead Engineer to be based at our customer's site in Gaydon on a hybrid basis.

Our Embedded Systems Solutions department (ESS) encompasses all activities outlined under the Automotive SPICE (ASPICE) process framework, including systems engineering, software engineering, coding, and all levels of functional testing. Beyond core development, ESS also integrates critical supporting processes such as project management, risk assessment, functional safety, and cybersecurity, ensuring compliance with ASPICE standards and delivering reliable, secure, and high-quality embedded systems & solutions.

Role Summary: The Triage Lead Engineer will be responsible for integrating, testing, and validating automotive software. This role focuses on system/software-level integration, log analysis, debugging, and issue tracking across various automotive communication and diagnostic frameworks. The engineer will collaborate closely with cross domain teams to ensure seamless software integration and high‑quality ECU performance.

Key responsibilities:

  • Software Integration & Testing
    • Integrate software components, middleware, and application layers into automotive ECUs.
    • Perform system-level testing, smoke testing, and regression testing after each integration cycle.
    • Validate communication interfaces such as CAN, LIN, and Ethernet.
    • Conduct functional and non-functional testing to ensure compliance with OEM requirements.
  • Logging & Debugging
    • Capture and analyze logs using DLT (Diagnostic Log and Trace), Ethernet logging tools, CANalyzer / CANoe, Corvus or similar log analysis tools, DDAT (ODX /PDX).
    • Interpret logs to identify root causes of integration failures.
    • Support debugging sessions with development teams to resolve integration issues.
  • Tools & Technologies
    • Hands-on experience with CANalyzer / CANoe, Corvus, DLT Viewer, Ethernet sniffing/logging tools (e.g., Wireshark).
    • Familiarity with automotive communication protocols (CAN, LIN, FlexRay, Ethernet).
  • Issue Tracking & Documentation
    • Raise, track, and manage issues using JIRA (SIMS).
    • Document integration steps, test results, and known issues.
    • Provide detailed defect reports with logs, reproduction steps, and analysis.
  • Collaboration
    • Work closely with Cross Domains.
    • Participate in integration planning, reviews, and release discussions.
    • Support cross-functional teams during debugging and release cycles.

Required skills & experience:

  • Strong understanding of automotive communication protocols and ECU architecture.
  • Proficiency with logging and analysis tools (CANalyzer, Corvus, DLT Viewer).
  • Experience with Ethernet-based communication and logging.
  • Ability to analyze logs, identify issues, and propose solutions.
  • Working knowledge of JIRA or similar issue-tracking systems.
  • Good Knowledge of Diagnostics.
  • Strong analytical, debugging, and problem‑solving skills.
