Due to our continued growth we are now recruiting for a Technical Lead – Infotainment to be based at our customer’s site in Gaydon.

Our Embedded Systems Solutions department (ESS) encompasses all activities outlined under the Automotive SPICE (ASPICE) process framework, including systems engineering, software engineering, coding, and all levels of functional testing. Beyond core development, ESS also integrates critical supporting processes such as project management, risk assessment, functional safety, and cybersecurity, ensuring compliance with ASPICE standards and delivering reliable, secure, and high-quality embedded systems & solutions.

Role Summary

The Technical Lead – Infotainment is responsible for leading the design, development, integration, and validation of in-vehicle infotainment platforms including HMI, connectivity, multimedia, and digital cockpit solutions. This role requires deep technical leadership across infotainment architectures, middleware, connectivity protocols, and user experience design. The Technical Lead ensures seamless integration of infotainment systems with vehicle domains, delivers high-quality user experiences, and drives innovation in connected and intelligent cockpit ecosystems.

Dimension of function

  • Lead end-to-end infotainment system integration (head unit, cluster, cockpit domain)
  • Own infotainment architecture, middleware integration, and interface management across domains
  • Drive cross-functional collaboration across HMI, UX, connectivity, cloud, and vehicle ECU teams
  • Ensure compliance with cybersecurity, functional safety (as applicable), and OEM infotainment standards
  • Enable continuous improvement in HMI performance, system responsiveness, and user satisfaction
  • Direct impact on customer experience, feature performance, and digital ecosystem scalability

Areas of responsibility

  • Architecture & Systems Engineering
    • Define system interfaces across infotainment, vehicle networks, and cloud ecosystems
    • Convert feature requirements into system specifications for HMI, connectivity, media, and apps
  • Infotainment Development & Integration
    • Lead development and integration of head unit, digital cockpit, and IVI platforms
    • Oversee integration of multimedia, navigation, voice assistants, connectivity (Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, 5G)
    • Ensure seamless integration with vehicle domains (ADAS, HVAC, Body, Powertrain interfaces)
    • Drive issue debugging in middleware, application layer, and system integration levels
  • Validation & Compliance
    • Define infotainment validation strategy (bench, SIL/HIL, vehicle validation, OTA validation)
    • Ensure compliance with automotive cybersecurity (ISO 21434), Android compliance, and OEM standards
    • Support performance validation for boot time, responsiveness, latency, and UX quality
    • Drive defect analysis, usability validation, and system robustness testing
  • Tools & Automation
    • Expertise in Android/Linux toolchains, ADB, log analysis, performance profiling tools
    • Experience with CAN/Ethernet diagnostics tools (Vector, Wireshark) for cross-domain debugging
    • Develop automation scripts (Python, shell scripting) for testing and CI/CD pipelines
    • Enable DevOps practices, OTA update validation, and continuous integration for IVI platforms
    • Lead adoption of next-gen infotainment technologies (digital cockpit, AR HUD, voice AI, app ecosystems)
    • Drive improvements in UX design, system performance, and feature scalability
    • Enable integration with cloud platforms, data analytics, and connected services

Knowledge / Experience

  • Education
    • Master’s degree in Electronics / Computer Science / Automotive Engineering (or equivalent)
  • Experience
    • Extensive experience in infotainment / embedded software / digital cockpit development
    • Strong expertise in Android Automotive OS, Linux, middleware, and HMI frameworks
    • Experience in connectivity technologies (Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, 4G/5G, cloud integration)
    • Proven experience in leading infotainment system integration programs
    • Hands-on debugging of infotainment issues (boot, performance, connectivity, UI)
    • Experience with ADAS integration, telematics, or digital cockpit platforms (preferred)
