Due to our continued growth we are now recruiting for Chief Engineer - V&V to be based at our customer's office in Gaydon. Our Engineering Research and Development department (ER&D) is a fast growing function within Tata Technologies Limited that is assembled to work on exciting projects globally for multiple customers. It comprises highly specialized engineers across Automotive, Aerospace and Industrial Heavy Machinery.

Scope of Role

We are seeking a highly experienced and visionary Senior Technical Leader to serve as the V&V Chief Engineer for embedded systems in advanced automotive programs. This role is pivotal in shaping the technical direction, strategy, and execution of Verification & Validation across electric powertrain, chassis, and subsystem domains. You will lead cross-functional teams, drive innovation in testing methodologies, and ensure compliance with global safety and quality standards.

Area of Responsibility

  • Define and lead the V&V strategy for embedded systems across multiple automotive platforms.
  • Serve as the technical authority for MIL, SIL, HIL, and VIL validation approaches.
  • Champion the use of dSPACE, NI, and Vector HIL platforms for real-time simulation, fault injection, and automated testing.
  • Architect and oversee CI/CD pipelines and test automation frameworks to enable scalable, efficient, and repeatable validation processes.
  • Provide deep domain expertise in electric powertrain, chassis, and vehicle subsystems, ensuring robust validation of control algorithms, diagnostics, and safety-critical features.
  • Collaborate with senior stakeholders across Systems Engineering, Software, Hardware, and Quality to align V&V efforts with program goals.
  • Represent the V&V function in technical reviews, customer engagements, and regulatory audits.
  • Mentor and develop a high-performing team of V&V engineers and technical specialists.
  • Drive continuous improvement and innovation in V&V tools, processes, and metrics.

Knowledge / Experience

  • Master’s or Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field.
  • Experience in embedded systems V&V and in a senior technical or leadership role.
  • Proven expertise in MIL, SIL, HIL, and VIL testing environments.
  • Hands-on experience with dSPACE, NI, and Vector HIL platforms.
  • Strong background in CI/CD, test automation, and DevOps practices.
  • Deep understanding of automotive standards (ISO 26262, ASPICE, AUTOSAR).
  • Technical leadership in electric powertrain, chassis, or subsystem domains.
  • Excellent communication, decision-making, and stakeholder management skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with ADAS, autonomous systems, or vehicle electrification programs.
  • Certifications in ISTQB, Six Sigma, PMP, or equivalent.
  • Familiarity with Agile development and model-based design.
