We are seeking a highly motivated and technically skilled Automotive Verification & Validation (V&V) System Engineer with specialized expertise in the Electric Vehicle (EV) Charging domain. In this role, you will be responsible for planning, developing, and executing comprehensive test strategies for EV charging systems, with a strong focus on Hardware-in-the-Loop (HiL) testing methodologies. You will collaborate closely with software, hardware, and systems engineering teams to ensure that charging system functionality meets the highest standards of quality, safety, and regulatory compliance.
Area of Responsibility
- Develop and maintain the end-to-end test execution plan across cycles (smoke, feature validation, regression, interoperability, compliance readiness) aligned to program milestones and sprint/release cadence.
- Coordinate and optimize utilization of HiL rigs, benches, EVSE simulators/toolkits, power supplies/loads, harnesses and FIU resources to avoid conflicts and maximize throughput.
- Own the test environment configuration baseline: ECU software versions, datasets, network/CAN databases, certificates (PnC), tooling versions.
- Ensure test results are reproducible by enforcing consistent configuration change logging.
- Track daily progress against plan: pass/fail trends, blocked tests, retest counts, coverage status, defect leakage, and readiness indicators.
- Run/coordinate defect triage cadence with cross-functional stakeholders; ensure proper prioritization, ownership assignment, and closure timelines.
- Enforce defect hygiene: clear reproduction steps, environment/build details, expected vs actual results, and complete attachments for faster root cause.
- Validate AC charging (Level 1 / Level 2) and DC fast charging (CCS1/CCS2, CHAdeMO, GB/T) functionality across the full charge cycle.
- Support homologation and type approval testing (UL, TUV, CE, OEM-specific standards).
- Identify, document, and triage defects using Jira — including creating well-structured issues with clear steps to reproduce, expected vs actual behaviour, severity, and supporting logs/data.
- Participate in daily standups, bug triages, and sprint planning within Agile/Scrum frameworks.
- Partner with software, hardware, systems, and program management teams to align test activities with project milestones.
Knowledge / Experience
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Mechatronics, Automotive Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Experience managing integrated test schedules, execution governance, and multi-stakeholder coordination in automotive V&V programs (Agile/sprint-based delivery preferred).
- Proven ability to coordinate lab/HiL resource planning, including rig booking, test readiness checklists, and instrument availability.
- Strong configuration management mindset: maintaining environment baselines (build/version traceability, tool versions, datasets, certificates) and ensuring reproducibility of results.
- Demonstrated experience coordinating defect triage operations: prioritization, ownership assignment, SLA tracking, and closure governance.
- Experience in Automotive System Testing/V&V coordination or Test Operations (EV/charging programs preferred), including lab execution planning and stakeholder reporting.
- Familiarity with charging standards and safety regulations: SAE J1772, IEC 62196, UL 2202, OEM-specific requirements.
- Knowledge of high-voltage (HV) safety fundamentals and EV electrical architecture (400V / 800V platforms).
