The Role: We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Lead Control Systems Engineer with a specialization in Vehicle Dynamics. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading the design, development, and implementation of longitudinal or lateral motion control systems to optimize vehicle performance and vehicle functionality.

Area of Responsibility:

  • Extensive hands‑on experience developing and delivering advanced vehicle motion control systems, covering a wide range of chassis, driveline, and dynamics functions.
  • Expertise includes Traction and Stability Systems, AWD control strategies, Torque Vectoring, Rear Wheel Steering, ABS, Yaw Rate regulation, and Electronic Differential Control.
  • Skilled in architecting control algorithms, validating performance, and ensuring seamless integration within embedded automotive platforms.
  • Strong ability to translate high‑level system behaviours into clear, structured, and traceable software requirements.
  • Ensures all requirements comply with system constraints, industry standards, regulatory guidelines, and ISO 26262 functional safety principles.
  • Adept at collaborating with cross‑functional teams to refine requirements and maintain end‑to‑end traceability across the V‑model.
  • Responsible for collaborating with software and systems engineers to capture system architecture, control logic, and interface definitions.
  • Responsible for ensuring documentation aligns with functional safety standards (e.g., ISO 26262), ASPICE, and internal quality processes.
  • Strong grounding in embedded software concepts, including real‑time execution, interrupt handling, software architecture patterns, and memory/performance constraints.
  • Understanding of how model‑based designs translate into production‑ready embedded C code.
  • Solid understanding of both Classic and (if relevant) Adaptive AUTOSAR frameworks and their role in automotive software architectures.
  • Knowledgeable in applying AUTOSAR concepts to model‑based workflows, including component definition, interfaces, ARXML generation, and integration into AUTOSAR toolchains.

Knowledge / Experience:

  • Experienced with Control Engineering – Theory and Application on complex mechatronic systems.
  • Experienced with Vehicle dynamics theory and application.
  • Experienced with Matlab/Simulink and MathWorks toolchain (e.g., Simscape).
  • Experience in software systems development or documentation within chassis or motion control systems.
  • Strong understanding of longitudinal vehicle dynamics and control systems (e.g., braking, propulsion, cruise control).
  • Experience with documentation and requirements management tools (e.g., IBM DOORS, Polarion, JIRA).
  • Familiarity with embedded software architecture and vehicle communication protocols (e.g., CAN, LIN, FlexRay).
  • Excellent technical writing and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a multidisciplinary engineering environment.
  • Solid knowledge of vehicle diagnostic standards such as UDS, OBD, and DoIP.
  • Experience in defining and shaping embedded software architectures for automotive systems.
  • Demonstrated technical leadership, acting as a recognised reference within the development team for software design, architectural decisions, and providing mentorship and guidance to colleagues.
  • Proven familiarity with key automotive engineering and software quality standards, including Automotive SPICE, CMMI, ISO 26262, ISO 21434, and SUMS (Software Update Management System).
  • Experience with model‑based development (e.g., MATLAB/Simulink).
