Lead Engineer - Exteriors in Kenilworth

THE ROLE

Working with the SMEs, the Project Engineer will be responsible for understanding the initial requirements for a programme based on the vignette and then developing this into robust technical assumptions, eventually leading to the development and delivery of the commodities. This role offers the opportunity to work on a diverse commodity group, in a fast-paced environment, providing exposure to several manufacturing technologies and supplier groups. The CoC works across most products, generating significant revenue and margin for the business. Self-motivated, dynamic engineers, who enjoy working on multiple commodities and programmes will be best suited for this role.

Area of Responsibility

• Liaise with Programme and Design teams in the initial development stages to develop concepts and take them through to launch
• Develop RFQ Cost Packs and support sourcing
• Generate Commodity Plans and manage suppliers
• Generate IPL Technical and Cost assumptions and manage throughout programme
• Identify technical solutions and suppliers
• Design, Development and Release
• Test and Validation
• ESO and PSW Launch support

Knowledge / Experience

Essential

• Degree in Engineering or comparable qualification.
• Experience in component/system delivery and development of Body and Trim systems.
• Knowledge of Digi-Buck / Vis-Mock-up / 3DLive
• Good communication and presentation skills to all levels
• Knowledge of Agile Methodology
• Knowledge of PCDS and CCDS

Desirable:

• Knowledge of engineering release and change management systems.
• Data analysis and PC skills including Excel, Word, Powerpoint
• Experience of problem solving tools and able to lead problem resolution initiatives.
• Experienced in WERS, AIMs, RMDV, APQP and PSW processes.
