Due to our continued growth we are now recruiting for a Junior Engineer to be based at our customer’s site in Gaydon. Our Embedded Systems Solutions department (ESS) encompasses all activities outlined under the Automotive SPICE (ASPICE) process framework, including systems engineering, software engineering, coding, and all levels of functional testing. Beyond core development, ESS also integrates critical supporting processes such as project management, risk assessment, functional safety, and cybersecurity, ensuring compliance with ASPICE standards and delivering reliable, secure, and high-quality embedded systems & solutions.

Role Summary: We are looking for a motivated Junior Engineer to support High Voltage (HV) system integration and validation activities for Battery Electric Vehicle (BEV) platforms. This role is suitable for freshers or candidates with some industry experience and offers hands‑on exposure to EV powertrain systems, vehicle testing, and diagnostics in a collaborative environment.

Key responsibilities:

  • Supporting testing and integration of HV components such as battery, inverter, onboard charger, DC‑DC converter, and charging systems
  • Assisting in preparation and execution of test plans, including vehicle‑level and bench‑level testing
  • Recording, analysing, and documenting test data and results

In addition, the role requires active participation in vehicle and issue management activities:

  • Supporting vehicle commissioning, functional validation, and basic HV safety checks under supervision
  • Logging and tracking issues in tools such as JIRA, and maintaining proper documentation
  • Assisting senior engineers in diagnostics, troubleshooting, and root cause investigation

The Junior Engineer will work closely with cross‑functional teams and contribute to smooth execution of testing activities:

  • Collaborating with design, software, and workshop teams for issue resolution
  • Ensuring test vehicle readiness and minimizing downtime during testing phases
  • Contributing to technical documentation, reports, and knowledge sharing

Required skills & experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Electronics, Automotive Engineering, or related field
  • Basic understanding of EV architecture, powertrain systems, and HV safety concepts
  • Familiarity with CAN tools, diagnostics, or data logging tools (academic exposure acceptable)
  • Good analytical and problem‑solving skills with a willingness to learn
  • Effective communication skills and ability to work in a team‑oriented environment
  • Exposure to EV/automotive projects or internships
  • Basic knowledge of CAN tools, diagnostics tool and embedded systems
  • Awareness of automotive standards and HV safety practices
