Due to our continued growth we are now recruiting for a Cloud Infrastructure Architect. to be based at our office/ our customer’s site in Gaydon .
Our Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) practice helps manufacturers build better products, define better processes, and reduce costs.

The Role
We are looking for a senior AWS Cloud Infrastructure Architect to lead the design, implementation and governance of secure, scalable, resilient and cost-optimised AWS infrastructure for a large enterprise PLM environment.
The role requires a strong mix of hands-on cloud architecture, enterprise infrastructure engineering, stakeholder leadership and production operations experience.
- Area of Responsibility
- Define AWS reference architectures, technical standards, design patterns and implementation blueprints aligned to enterprise and security requirements.
- Design AWS landing zones, account structures, identity boundaries, network segmentation and governance controls using AWS Organizations and Control Tower where appropriate.
- Architect core infrastructure services including VPC, EC2, S3, Route 53, load balancing, Transit Gateway, Direct Connect, VPN, IAM, KMS, Cloud Watch and Cloud Trail.
- Lead technical decision-making for migration, transformation and modernisation initiatives while balancing governance with delivery agility.
- Apply AWS Well-Architected principles to improve security, reliability, performance efficiency, cost optimisation, operational excellence and sustainability.
- Partner with security, Dev Ops, application, operations and business teams to ensure practical, robust and supportable cloud solutions.
- Create clear architecture documentation, decision records, design assurance packs and stakeholder-ready technical presentations.

- Knowledge / Experience
Essential Experience
- Hands on infrastructure, cloud, platform engineering or enterprise technology experience.
- Hands-on AWS architecture and engineering experience in enterprise-scale environments.
- Proven experience designing and supporting production AWS environments for large or complex organisations.
- Experience in regulated, high-availability or business-critical environments where resilience, security and operational control are essential.
- Demonstrable experience in cloud migration, infrastructure transformation, modernisation, service transition and operational support.
- Strong stakeholder management capability, including the ability to explain complex technical matters clearly to senior technical and non-technical audiences.
Technical Skills
- AWS infrastructure: EC2, VPC, S3, Route 53, Elastic Load Balancing, Autoscaling, RDS or equivalent managed services.
- AWS networking: Transit Gateway, Direct Connect, VPN, subnetting, routing, DNS, hybrid connectivity and network security patterns.
- Security and governance: IAM, KMS, Security Hub, Guard Duty, Cloud Trail, policy controls, encryption and least-privilege design.
- Infrastructure as Code: Terraform and/or Cloud Formation, including modular design, version control and environment promotion practices.
- Monitoring and operations: Cloud Watch, Cloud Trail, Open Search/ELK, Grafana, Prometheus or similar tooling.
- Operating systems and platform administration: Linux and Windows, scripting and automation using Shell, Python or equivalent.
- Dev Ops and CI/CD: Git-based workflows, pipeline integration, environment automation and release support.
